P1 GAMES
Last Saturday we hosted the first ever P1GAMES!
The Games sit in line with the training programme, completing the training cycle:
Phase 1: Accumulation (Green Programme) Accumulation phases prioritise volume and laying down the foundation. These phases are usually more reps, more quantity... If you imagine a pyramid, this phase provides the foundation on which you build long-term habits on.
Phase 2: Intesification (Blue Programme) - also reffered to as 'max strength' Intensification marks the transition from an accumulation phase, emphasising higher intensity (load, weight) and lower volume within the training week.
Intensification redirects our focus to quality over quantity! This phase is where we strive for higher percentages, seeking peak strength adaptations.
It’s a period when specificity becomes more crucial, rest periods are longer and we align our training closely with how we (and life in general) might test at the end of this training phase.
Phase 3: P1 GAMES The games are the cherry on top, the peak of the pyramid, testing your strength and conditioning. Think of them as the Olympic games for atheletes, or a World Cup.
Testing periodically is important to be able to build a true picture of your strength and fitness level. We can help you push on the day, then evaluate results and build a plan for the next phase 1 and 2 training period. OR you are very welcome to take part just for the fun of it! 😜
Fun in a crazy way, of course, but the atmosphere on the day was great, the teamwork and support from others lovely to see and hear, plus it's a really epic workout!
Now you know why we're doing it, the only job you have left is to get in touch if you're interested in training with purpose and be part of a motivating community!
